Miyagase Lake
Miyagase Lake is a stunningly beautiful area and suitable for day trips by car from Minamiashigarashi (from Kevin’s Guesthouse or Merry Lue’s Guesthouse).
To get there:
You can go by car from Minamiashigarashi to Kaisei Town and take the Tomei Expressway to Atsugi. From Atsugi follow the signs. We headed towards Atsugi downtown but bypassed Atsugi and followed the signs leading towards Tsukui, Miyagase, and Kiyokawa.

By Train and Bus:
You can also take the Odakyu line to Hon Atsugi and get a bus to Miyagase.
There are various restaurants and shops in Miyagase, hiking, -be sure to carry bear bells!
Some typical Lazy Lake Miyagase tourists!
There are cruises to various parts of the lake, which is surprisingly huge. You can go canoeing, kayaking, have a picnic or barbecue, or simply have a nice stroll in the park.

Many people were enjoying cycling in the area.
With the scenery and the plethora of log cabins spattered around the area, you could imagine you were in my native Canada.
I highly recommend this area if you want a break from city life for a day or more. Day trips are easily done, or you can stay at an Airbnb or a Minshiku, if you want to stay longer. Camping seems to be possible as well. Lake Miyagase supplies 90% of the water in Kanagawa.
