Owakudani

Owakudani is a very beautiful, and mystical spot in Hakone.  Its name literally means “Great Boiling Valley.”

Want a black egg?  You can have one here at this place of ancient volcanic vents and hot springs.  The wate is hot enough to boil an egg.  If you eat one, it is believed you will live seven years longer!

The area`s sulphuric smells and bubbling cauldrons take you back to the time of the dinosaurs, when volcanoes were commonplace.  Children will love it.  Just be sure to keep the little ones safe!  There is a lot of hot water around.

Cost: Free
